It’s just another manic Monday…I wish it were Sunday.

All together now, “It’s just another manic Monday…I wish it were Sunday…”

It’s been a little while since I just checked-in here on le blogaroo. If you follow me on Twitter (or Instagram, or Snapchat, or even Facebook) you’ll know that I moved at the beginning of May. My BF (Mike) and I found an amazing apartment, and decided to take the plunge and move in together. It’s been a full month now (we actually got the keys a couple of days before May 1st) – and while it isn’t always easy – it’s been a great month and I couldn’t be happier!

So needless to say, between unpacking and building furniture (ok, I mainly supervised the building of the furniture), and just settling in to the new routines (plus catching some Blue Jays games in between) – things have been a bit hectic. Hence, the lack of blog posts. Sorry! But now that we’re all unpacked and settled in – I’m back and excited to share so much with you guys!

The first week we moved in – there was SO much going on and the last thing I wanted to do was go to a grocery store and shop. Luckily my friends at HelloFresh came to my rescue!

jenn and the city blue jays #lifein4k #letsrise

The birds are chirping, the sun is shining…spring has officially (and finally) sprung! Which also means…it’s time the Blue Jays!

The boys in blue are back this year and I for one couldn’t be more excited. No, seriously – I tried and I physically could not be more excited. My body just couldn’t do it. THAT’S how excited I already am! LOL

Last season was one of my all-time favourite Blue Jays seasons. Not only did the Blue Jays have a decent run, but I got to experience a handful of games in person at the ballpark, and even more in the comfort of my own home.

This season may not have started off on the best foot for our boys, but I had the opportunity to go to 3 games within 4 days…which was awesome!

first game, front row…this’ll do, I suppose #LetsRise

CONTEST | New Season – New Menu Items at Aroma Espresso Bar #SpiceUpSpring

The sun is shining and spring has officially sprung at Aroma Espresso Bar!

The other day, I had the opportunity to head out to (what will be my new local after our big move!Aroma Espresso Bar, and check out a sneak peek of their new spring menu options.

Aroma Espresso Bar values nutritional integrity. Every day in each of our locations across Ontario, we chop tomatoes, grill eggplant, mash avocado, cook quinoa, bake bread, and more. Meals are always prepared fresh and made-to-order.

That’s one of the things I love about Aroma Espresso Bar. While yes, the food is quick and convienient – it’s also fresh and nutritious.

This spring, Aroma Espresso Bar is introducing a few new items to their menu…and reinventing a classic staple.

Turning My Love For Wine Into An Appreciation Of Good Wine, Thanks To iYellow Wine Club

Alright, my love for wine is not news to anyone who reads my posts, and my love for iYellow Wine Club shouldn’t be either.

I’ve been friends with the entire iYellow Wine Club team since I first popped up on the blogging scene…back when I was “AwesomeJennJenn.” Remember those days?

Good times…good times, I tell ya.

Anyways, the team at iYellow Wine Club are awesome because they took my love for wine and nurtured it into an appreciation for good wine. Between classes and tastings and amazing wine tours – the entire team at iYellow Wine Club knows their stuff – but best of all, they have fun with it.

For 10 years the iYellow Wine Club has been promoting the vibrant wine lifestyle.

I can honestly say that I have never had a bad time at an iYellow Wine Club event. Ever, I mean – how could you?! There’s wine, there’s food, there’s laughs…it’s just a load of fun!

Like at the beginning of the month, for instance. I brought my sister out for a fun day of tasting delicious California wines with iYellow Wine Club at their #CaliWineJam. We had the chance to try different wines at our leisure, and then even go back for seconds (or thirds – whatever, don’t judge us) of our faves. All while chatting with reps from each brand, who were able to tell us the distinct notes to look for, what to pair each with, and even if they were available in the LCBO.

all you need in life is love…and wine 💁🏻🍷 #CaliWineJam

I’m Human And Life Gets Hectic Sometimes

jenn and the city

Oh, hey there! How are you doing? I feel like it has been awhile since we chatted and caught up!

I’m sorry for the lack of updates here on le blogaroo. It’s been a rough couple of weeks on my end, mainly because I had to say goodbye to my best bud…my fur baby, Precious.

It’s been just over a week since I had to say goodbye to this face…and not a day has gone by that I haven’t cried. I’ve suffered through my fair share of heartbreak over the years, but nothing compares to the pain I have felt this past week. Saying goodbye to my best friend was byfar the hardest thing I have ever had to do. She offered me unconditional love over the 11.5 years we spent together and our bond was undeniable. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and offered their condolences, and a big thank you to everyone who has shared with me some of the memories they had with Precious. The reminder that she was loved and adored by not only me has been comforting. Precious was stubborn. Precious was set in her ways. Precious did what she wanted, when she wanted. But Precious was also fragile. She was a gentle soul, and all she ever wanted was love…both to receive and give. I wonder where she got that from? September 17, 2005 – March 15, 2017 xo

Some sort of silver lining on the rough couple of weeks though is that we found an amazing apartment! Yup, that’s right – in case you didn’t know, the BF and I are making the move to cohabitating.

*deep breaths*

That Time I Finally Felt Human Again So I Went To #RockYourRide At CycleBar Leaside

OMG – you guys, I can’t believe how sick I have been over the past couple of weeks. It has been BRUTAL. My head pounded, my body ached, I blew my nose so much that it became tender to the touch…which was unpleasant every time I had to sneeze…which was often.

Everything just *~HuRt~* Le sigh.

The worst part? My fave guy had been sick too. So, it’s been about a month of taking turns making soup and restocking the Emergen-C and Buckley’s. LOL But, thankfully, we’re both FINALLY feeling better and are getting some energy back!

This energy came in handy last week when I dragged myself to my very first ever spin class at CycleBar Leaside.

I headed out to Leaside to the brand-spanking new CycleBar for their media preview night. This is the first and only CycleBar studio in Canada, however they’re looking to expand over the next year.

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas Whether You’re Coupled Up Or Flying Solo

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas Whether You’re Coupled Up Or Flying Solo

I love love. This is no secret. I’m a massive hopeless romantic, so it should come as no surprise that I adore Valentine’s Day. Duh – I love all thing romantic and mushy and gushy. I’m practically the cartoons you see where they have hearts as eyes and are almost always blushing.

…yeah, that’s basically me.

That being said, whether you are coupled up, or flying solo – Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be stressful…or boring! Sure, you could do the same ol’ thang year in and year out – make a reservation at a fancy schmancy restaurant…but, where’s the fun in that?

I’ve put together a short list of fun things you can do this Valentine’s Day – either your boothang, your friends, or heck – even just on your own.

PayPal and Siri Saving Friendships One I.O.U. At A Time

PayPal Siri integration now available!

Starting November 10th , for the first time in Canada, iPhone users can tell Siri to send or request money through an integration with the PayPal app.

So here’s the thing. I don’t often have very much downtime. I’m usually on the go-go-go, whether it’s heading to work, or an event, off on another travel adventure – whatever the case may be. Very rarely do I get a chance to hang out with friends and just ~*chill*~.

But, when my friend Casie and I’s schedules FINALLY aligned for a little gab sesh, I jumped at the chance (even though I had landed from NYC that morning and had been on MAX 9 hours sleep over the previous 3 days combined, lolz).

I met up with Casie on the adorable back patio of Bar Reyna for some nibbles and cocktails and a long overdue catch-up. Between chatting about our lives pre-blogging days, to current crushes (mine new, hers her amazing BF of 10+ years who she still has a crush on to this day, #cute), to the US election (…ugh) – time was just flying by on the patio.

When we were ready to leave, Casie just picked up the tab as opposed to us splitting it. We were in a rush to head out to watch the Election Night coverage! I assured her I’d pay her back for my portion, obvs.

But come the next day – I was just a ball of mush. LOL

I was exhausted and drained and struggling to put together sentences. I mentally checked out and went to bed at like, 7pm. After a MUCH needed night of rest – I remembered that I owed Casie a couple of bucks for our patio night. Oops!

I don’t know about you, but I ALWAYS feel awkward asking friends for money that is owed to me. I also feel incredibly awkward when I owe a friend money.

I know I’m not alone in this, because according to a PayPal Money Habits Study* conducted by Koski Tesearch in 2015 – on average, 30% of Canadians have actually lost a friendship over an I.O.U.

30% of friendships ended because of money owed. Welp.

CONTEST | Eat The Rainbow With Genuine Health Greens+

Let me paint a picture for you. The sky is still dark and you’re curled up in bed. You’re all comfy and cozy in your blanket burrito – dreaming about pizza or that cute boy, or whatever you fancy…and then *bam* your alarm goes off.

*beep* *beep* *beep*

Grudgingly – you roll over and hit snooze, hoping for another few minutes of la la land bliss. By the time you finally get out of bed (perhaps after hitting snooze another once or twice, #guilty) you’re then in a rush to get ready and get your day started.

giphy

This was literally my every morning over the past few weeks. Especially after celebrating my birthday month week…I was finding it even more so difficult to get out of bed. On top of that – I was skipping out on breakfast. #oops

Not eating breakfast is one of my worst habits. I’m a HUGE fan of weekend brunch, which if you’ve been following me for a little while you would already know. But that’s different. That’s later in the day and there is almost always adult beverages involved. But apparently having a drink with your breakfast during the week before heading into the office is frowned upon. LOL
