Let me paint a picture for you. The sky is still dark and you’re curled up in bed. You’re all comfy and cozy in your blanket burrito – dreaming about pizza or that cute boy, or whatever you fancy…and then *bam* your alarm goes off.
*beep* *beep* *beep*
Grudgingly – you roll over and hit snooze, hoping for another few minutes of la la land bliss. By the time you finally get out of bed (perhaps after hitting snooze another once or twice, #guilty) you’re then in a rush to get ready and get your day started.
This was literally my every morning over the past few weeks. Especially after celebrating my birthday month week…I was finding it even more so difficult to get out of bed. On top of that – I was skipping out on breakfast. #oops
Not eating breakfast is one of my worst habits. I’m a HUGE fan of weekend brunch, which if you’ve been following me for a little while you would already know. But that’s different. That’s later in the day and there is almost always adult beverages involved. But apparently having a drink with your breakfast during the week before heading into the office is frowned upon. LOL
Once my birthday passed – I knew I had to start making some changes. I had to get my butt back in the gym and I had to start eating a little better. My constant diet of wings and pizza and wine was catching up to me, in the worst way possible. I was constantly feeling tired and bloated and just all around blah.
Slowly but surely I’ve been forcing myself out of bed earlier so that I could make my way to the gym. I love early morning workouts, but hate waking up early. Go figure. LOL That’s not the only change I’ve been making though.
I’ve had a steady supply of Genuine Health products in my cupboard ever since I tried out these Genuine Health Guilt-Free Peanut Butter Cups a few months ago, and I’ve been playing around with a few different recipes to try and find an easy solution to my breakfast problem.
Genuine Health uses only pure and natural ingredients.
Our criteria for every ingredient in each of our formulas is constant: It must be pure and natural, research-proven, safe and effective. We are so proud of formulations and the results people get that we want everyone to know about it. We are also proud of what our formulas do not contain, such as: artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners or preservatives, corn, dairy, egg, gluten, yeast, GMO or animal products.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m incredibly lazy in the morning, so I knew that the only way I would be incorporating a healthy breakfast was if it was quick and easy to make. Oh, and it had to taste good, obvs.
That’s when I fell in love with the Hello Sunshine Smoothie.
1 orange, peeled
1 kiwi, peeled
1 cup pineapple, cubed
½ a lemon, peeled
1 scoop greens+ original plain
1 cup coconut water (or more if desired)
Toss all ingredients into a blender. Blitz until creamy.
The Hello Sunshine Smoothie is so ridiculously easy to make, it tastes great, and it’s something I can sip as I get ready for my day…because let’s face it – I’m always multitasking. While I’m sure I should probably be adding something else to my breakfast plan – this, in my humble bragging opinion, is a great start. I’m getting a healthy dose of protein and of fruits and vegetable, which is obviously a good thing, right?
…which is great because I’ve partnered with Genuine Health to offer you the chance to try out some of their products yourself!
