Queen Margherita Pizza – Authentic Neapolitan Wood Burning Pizzeria
So, here’s the thing. Since I’ve started making an effort to eat better and exercise more, I try to only allow myself one 24-hour cheat day per week. M does the same, which makes it a whole lot easier for me to stick to. Typically our 24-hour cheat day falls on Saturday, AKA – date night for JJ and M.
Needless to say, M and I always look forward to our Saturday date nights. Sure – we get to see each other and go out, which is awesome – obvs – he’s hilarious and simply the best, but…but…BUT – we also get to devour delicious food.
Once we decide where were heading for date night out of our ever-growing list of restaurants that we want to check out – the anticipation builds daily. Seriously – not a week goes by where a text saying, “Is it Saturday yet?” isn’t sent between the two of us.
Our love for food is just one of the many things we have in common. I’m not going to lie, leading up to our date nights we usually end up drooling over the restaurants Instagram feed for days prior to Saturday night. LOL Don’t act like you haven’t done it yourself!
Anyways – such was the case this past week when we knew we were going to be heading to Queen Margherita Pizza.
Queen Margherita Pizza is named for Margherita Maria Teresa Giovanna, the Queen consort of Italy during the reign of King Umberto I.
As the story goes, for a royal visit to the city of Naples in 1889, local pizzamaker Raffaele Esposito made three different pizzas. The Queen’s favourite was one representing the Italian flag with green basil leaves, white mozzarella cheese and red tomato sauce. From then on, it was known as Pizza Margherita.
Delicious pizzas made in a stone oven with a wood-oak fire, along side traditional appetizers and specialty desserts – what was there not to like?!

Queen Margherita Pizza started like every great recipe: with passion. A passion for Neapolitan pizza and dishes made with only the best, ethically sourced ingredients. From Italy and our own backyard. A passion for the city we live in and the places we eat. And a passion we’re happy to share with you.
When Saturday night finally rolled around, we arrived to Queen Margherita Pizza, tummies rumbling, ready for a delicious feast. And a feast it was! While you can order any item you’d like off of their menu – they also have a Prix Fixe option. You can choose any appetizer, pizza, and dessert – for only $30.
For our hosted dinner on Saturday night – we went with this option and left with leftovers because there was A LOT of food! We had a Caprese salad, Arancini, Calabrese and Alla Campagnolo pizzas, a Nutella mousee, and chocolate torte to finish it off – like I said…it was a feast!
Fun Fact: M’s father enjoyed the leftover Calabrese pizza, and agreed that it was delicious.
Queen Margherita Pizza was gracious enough to not only host us for our delicious date night, but also partner with Jenn and the City to give YOU the opportunity to go check them out yourselves!
